Need help with a rogue quest please!!!

I am doing the Klaven’s tower quest. I have the key but I can not open the chest at the top of the tower. Is there anything else that i need to get or do to complete the quest.

Curse of the Tides workaround that works - GM

So you want to complete the STV quest called The Curse of the Tides, but you feel the quest is bugged? Well, it is, but there is a workaround. This is a GM approved workaround, and not just another hunch on how to get it to work.

You must have a copy of the book called Legends of the Gurubashi, Volume 3 in your main backpack when you try to summon Gazban.

You get the book as a type of quest reward from the quest Stone of the Tides.

Here is how it goes:

1.) Get the quest called Stone of the Tides from Baron Revilgaz in Booty Bay. This is the quest that has you search for the Haunted Island.

2.) When you turn in the quest, he will give you something called the Library Scrip.

3.) Take the Library Scrip to the Stormwind Library in the Stormwind Keep. There is a guy there you can give it to. He will allow you to take one of two books for your troubles. Choose the Legends of the Gurubashi, Volume 3.

4.) Go back to Booty Bay and receive the Curse of the Tides quest.

5.) Now be sure that the book is in your main backpack, and go perform the quest as normal (use the dagger on the statue thing in the Vile Reef).

This time, Gazban should spawn. You can kill him now and grab the quest item. I am not sure if the Horde can do this as the book is received in the Stormwind Library. Please note that the book can be auctioned off, or shared with a friend or guild as it is not soulbound.

I found out this information from a GM. Actually, the in-game GM told me there was no workaround when I asked. However, a few days later I received this e-mail which confirms it:

Missing Quest in Hellfire…Where did it go?

Ok so, bare with me here. I forget names easily.

I am almost done with Helfire on my pally. I have one silly ravager quest to finish before I move to zangarmarsh. But I feel like I am forgetting something.

One of the most fun experiences I’ve had in this game was leveling with my 2 roomates and our guild when BC first came out. It was awesome. One quest I remember was in hellfire. my roomate and I along with 2 guildies completed it. It took place in the Orc base in the south east (the place that you light buildings on fire in another quest) I remember going into the main base area with my friends and killing a “boss” in order to complete a quest.

Well I never did it with my pally. Whats the deal? Did I miss something? Am I imagining things? There must be something in that building.

The Great Netherwing Egg Hunt

Know what sucks? This damn quest! Been at it for a week now and only 1 (one!) god damn egg. I know I’m complaining and I’m sure the trolls and lurkers in these forums will give me an ear full! But it is just awful! I’ve fought thru mobs in the mines to get to an egg only to have it stolen away time and time again. The spawn points that I’ve found and outside reading material helps, but to no avail (this one is good: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWJ0S8vj4qo). Rep takes forever without getting these eggs on a regular basis. Supposedly drop off certain mobs on the ledge or mine but I have yet to see one after hundreds of kills. This quest just sucks and I see many many folks with their mounts .. so I guess this is normal - but it still sucks!

Hatebringer’s Leveling suggestion Guide

HATEBRINGER’S LEVEL GUIDE (Horde Version)

I made this guide because multiple people have been pestering me for ideas for leveling at their specific level. If you’re stuck at a certain level and think there’s nothing to do, here is a list showing almost everything you can do at that level… For example, you’re stuck at 41, theres a few things to do instead of spamming trade for a run through Uldaman. All Acronyms are explained at the first logical level they can be done, and each consecutive level after that theyre abbreviated.

This wont be a strict guideline, just what works….

For i.e. Booty Bay is “BB” and lvl 30 is a good level to start those quests, etc.

Tharnariun’s Hope - The Den Mother

At level 16 I attempted to solo this quest. I started with the first cub and went through all the rest of the cubs to finally look at the Den Mother who was at level 19. Having no mana left, and having used my healing statue (Coarse Stone) and unable to use a Heavy Linen bandage during battle I was unable to complete this quest.

Seeing as how the Den Mother’s level was orange when I attempted this quest, shouldn’t the quest also have been orange instead of yellow? It would have saved me from having attempted the quest in the first place and wasted time traveling back and forth from the cemetery - seeing as how the cubs respawned by the time I arrived and no-one was around to do the quest with me.

Horde and Alliance quest reward differences

My first venture into the world of warcraft was on the Alliance side. I leveled a priest to 70 and one of each class up to level 19 to 29. Shortly after, I decided to give Horde a try.

I noticed that almost every Horde quest had a similar quest reward to the Alliance quests for that level and really the only difference was the name. Once I had my first Horde toon (a hunter) up to level 18, I started looking for the Horde equivilant to The Tunic of Westfall from the Defias Brotherhood quest line that ends in Deadmines. There isn’t one. Not even close.

Ok, no biggy, I’m not twinking the hunter out, so I just run Wailing Caverns and take the Wing Blade. Just out of curiosity, I checked to see if there was an Alliance equivilant and there isn’t.

Now I’m gearing up my pally for Kara and I find these http://thottbot.com/i25788 Dauntless Handguards and guess what…they are an Alliance only quest reward with NO Horde equivilant. So I’m curious, why is there no Horde equivilant to this? Was it an oversight? Laziness on the part of programmers?

Now I’m pretty sure that you Alliance players have run into similar situations, along with other classes. I invite everyone that has run into this problem to link the items in question here.

May we dare to dream this gets enough attention to get a positive result for both factions.
